Kids lessons on being faithful and beleiving in themselves
Things that I have taught my children today:
Great is thy faithfulness
Great is thy faithfulness
Morning by morning new mercies I see
All I have needed thy hand hath provided.
Great is thy faithfulness Lord unto me.
So goes a famous hymn.I told my children today how God provides and we have to acknowledge and give thanks to every little thing or big thing he gives us.Every morning,He blesses us with new mercies and for every mercy we should be thankful. Health, good schools, good teachers and parents, paper and pencils, books and beds, etc all are part of God's mercies every day, so we need to be thankful to Him.
Today I also told my children of a lady who is a church friend and she told me today that she did not get pay checks for five years and one day as she was praying and going she heard God say, "its not the pay check that provides for you, its me". I was so humbled by her simple words and I told my children that we should always acknowledge God for everything.
Patriarchs Noah,Joshua,Abraham,Moses were incredibly blessed because they acknowledged His grace and mercy on their lives. So it is very important to be faithful to God.Being faithful means to be thankful, loyal, obedient and connected to Him.
I told them the importance of believing in themselves, how God created them to be with abilities and talents to do whatsoever.Just as a $100 dollar bill does not loose its value even if it is crushed, so also we do not diminish in value in God's sight. So no matter what the world calls you or how it treats you, never stop beleiving in yourself, how God made you to be and what He equipped you with.
We need to do things to please God, not people. We should not crave for approval from people rather we derive our worth and value and acceptance and approval from God alone. We do not derive our definition from people but from God Almighty.
Above all, Ps 103 says "From everlasting to everlasting God's love is with those who fear Him".The Bible doesnt say from June 2001 to Feb 4993 ,ie, it doesnt specify a time period for God's love. God's love does not have an expiry date.
P.S: I dont know, at 10 and 7 how much they comprehend but I am glad that they do listen attentively.Someday I hope they read all this again and hope it blesses thier lives.
