Two Circles.

Imagine two circles. One is a big circle where God's presence abides. The other is a circle where every rottenness abide----bitterness,negativity,greed,selfishness,impatience,anger,hatred,licentiousness,all fleshly things abhorrent to God etc Which circle would you like to be?If you stand in God's circle, God himself is your Vindicator,Redeemer,Rewarder,Judge,Protector,PromiseKeeper,Shepherd...and He will be to you whom you want Him to be. He fights our battles for us.You will live in peace. If you are in the other circle where you are standing in a muck of bitterness/negativity/greed/selfishness/impatience/anger/hatred/licentiousness/whatever is not of faith there is no one to help you out of your situation. Not even satan will help you there. This is temporal circle where there is only destruction and that is satan's goal. You will know no peace. Your God given life opportunity is wasted in the muck. Jesus talked of a narrow path and a broad path in Matt 7:14 Enter through

The Lord watches over me

The Lord watches over me in the still of the night and in the turbulance might that I may not loose myself from His sight comforting me within His light. The Lord my God watches over me in the brightness of every day He sends me smiles my way in my pain,my sorrows,my joys, come whatever may, He rejoices over me when I pray that I will trust Him and at His feet my cares lay. The Lord watches over me through the anxieties, hurts and worries keeing me from all vengeful quarries Gathering me under His wings Redemption,Restoration is what His grace brings This is all I pray to my El Shaddai That to forgive others as much as I try to live in His love as the days go by That He may call me a daughter after His own heart who will yeild to Him in full and not in part. That He may call me a mighty woman of valor not let down with rough times but come out in full color That He may call me His treasured possession to delight myself in that confession and that He may call me His Friend that I might le

Success in life as I agree with.

Two things stand out to me,or at least got me thinking seriously today: 1.The caption Learning from Others from Michelle's blog A quiet, gracious life and 2.An article that I saw on http://hwaitah.blogspot.com titled " What Are You Becoming In Your Pursuits. Behold and Beware! " Learning from Others got me thinking that God blessed me with so many friends who despite being people of normal human nature have excellent traits that I dont seem to possess myself. Some of the most outstanding traits are encouraging, appreciating--speaking well in general, people who are quiet and humble, they not only talk but do excessive listening as well. That does teach me something I ought to have more of. These are going to be few of my goals as I write on them next. The second one came as a surprise as I was blog hopping and came accross this article on the blog ( http://hwaitah.blogspot.com ) titled WHAT DIRECTION. The writer of the blog has put forth interesting thoughts on goal set

A mother of faith~Jochebed

Today in our family devotions we read Exodus Chapter 2. Jochebed was a remarkable woman of faith. She placed her child in a basket made of reeds and trusted God to protect her baby in a river full of crocodiles, hippos and other predators.God led the basket to the right place~~~the destiny He had for the child. Hebrews 11:23 says," By faith Moses' parents hid him for three months after he was born, because they saw he was no ordinary child, and they were not afraid of the king's edict." No matter how our circumstances may seem,God is in control of you and your children. The Lord says in Isaiah that our children will be taught by the Lord and what the Lord says, the word He speaks out will not return to Him void. So place your trust in God for little things and God will bless you with bigger things.

FOCUS

Of late I have kind of swirved into an emotional turmoil. My empty mind became a workshop for the enemy. Its amazing how the mind wanders and wonders if it is not rooted in God and does not derive strength from God.However Rocky had a good word for me few days ago and that is to FOCUS. Focus on: 1.I belong to God and He loves me. 2.I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. 3.My God is richly able to supply ALL I need and He holds and knows my future. 4.My Father in Heaven never forsakes me nor withholds his tender mercies. 5.I am a conqueror. 6.He makes all my crooked paths straight. 7.He calls me His beloved. The Lord is mine and I am His, His banner over me is Love. 8.The Lord will perfect that which concerns me. More on Focussing: Recently I heard from Joyce Meyer on the television that we ought to focus more on the strengths that God has planted in us than the weaknesses we have.God perfects our strengths in our weaknesses. Now this is something I need to chew on everyda

Kid's humour,

Last night I was telling the story of Job to my kids and as I was finishing I told that God gave Job double for his trouble. He doubled everything he had earlier. So my children asked did they have 14 children then.I said, he must have had. Then my 8 yr old asked me, "Mom, did he also get 2 wives?"

Learning lessons

Of late,I have come to know that It is not in man's hands to give me what I need. Its useless to expect a promotion or something that we deserve by rights from man. Every blessing comes from God alone. That has never been more truer in my life. Good or bad, God is with me all the time. God was in my past, He is in my present and He is in my future...and when He is with me,I lack nothing. Matthew 28:20 "And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." He has promised me a wonderful future and what He said He will do,He will keep His word. 2 Corinthians 1:20 "For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God ." One excellent quote by a fellow blogger at memyselfandmercy.blogspot.com(She is an excellent blogger and I like her writings): God sends JUST. WHAT. I. NEED....JUST. IN. TIME.

On making new relationships...for my kids..

First Lady Michelle Obama on relationships: Cute’s good. But cute only lasts for so long, and then it’s, Who are you as a person? That’s the advice I would give to women: Don’t look at the bankbook or the title. Look at the heart. Look at the soul. Look at how the guy treats his mother and what he says about women. How he acts with children he doesn’t know. And, more important, how does he treat you? When you’re dating a man, you should always feel good. You should never feel less than. You should never doubt yourself. You shouldn’t be in a relationship with somebody who doesn’t make you completely happy and make you feel whole. And if you’re in that relationship and you’re dating, then my advice is, don’t get married. Get out of it and find that person that brings you complete and utter joy with who you are at the moment. I agree with her totally and few years ago Professor Randy Pausch said to the same effect in his famous "Last Lecture". "When it comes to men who are

Kids lessons on being faithful and beleiving in themselves

Things that I have taught my children today: Great is thy faithfulness Great is thy faithfulness Morning by morning new mercies I see All I have needed thy hand hath provided. Great is thy faithfulness Lord unto me. So goes a famous hymn.I told my children today how God provides and we have to acknowledge and give thanks to every little thing or big thing he gives us.Every morning,He blesses us with new mercies and for every mercy we should be thankful. Health, good schools, good teachers and parents, paper and pencils, books and beds, etc all are part of God's mercies every day, so we need to be thankful to Him. Today I also told my children of a lady who is a church friend and she told me today that she did not get pay checks for five years and one day as she was praying and going she heard God say, "its not the pay check that provides for you, its me". I was so humbled by her simple words and I told my children that we should always acknowledge God for everything. Patriar

Trusting God.

God has been so good and faithful in my life innumberable times ...and its about time I quit worrying and started trusting God that whatever He is doing, its going to be good.Very recently,God had recently worked an impossible situation in our favour in a very short time. Its about time that I placed my worries and other things on His altar. Is 32.17 The fruit of righteousness will be peace; the effect of righteousness will be quietness and confidence forever. Is 30:15(AMP) For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel: In returning [to Me] and resting [in Me] you shall be saved; in quietness and in [trusting] confidence shall be your strength. Prov 3:5-6 (AMP) Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths. Heb 4:3 For we who have believed (adhered to and trusted in and relied on God) d

Life's ironies when kids are just kids.Sweet!

An interesting but endearing thing that happened few days ago while having family devotions. My children are like Tom and Jerry at 10 and 7 years of age.Its kind of bugging at times but then its also cute. The other day we were having prayer and I made them hold hands during prayer. Somewhere in the middle of the prayer that I was making them say, I had a vague notion that they werent holding hands anymore..... so I opened one eye only to see that my younger one was holding on to the sleeve of the jacket my older daughter wore....so the chain wasnt broken. Cute! I barely kept my voice straight.Thank you Lord for such tiny splendors. That brings to mind one more incident that happened few years ago.I used to watch This is your day program quite regularly then.My children were 7 and 4 then and my 4 yr old was sitting on the potty trying to do her thing since a while. Her sister was reading a story. Suddenly I heard my older daughter say, "In the name of the Lord, Do!" I just b

But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit , which is in the sight of God of great price. 1Peter 3:4 KJV

Encouraging scriptures in the face of disappointments

“However, as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him"—”- 1 Corinthians 2:9 Isaiah 30:18 (Amplified Bible)18And therefore the Lord [earnestly] waits [expecting, looking, and longing] to be gracious to you; and therefore He lifts Himself up, that He may have mercy on you and show loving-kindness to you. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are all those who [earnestly] wait for Him, who expect and look and long for Him [for His victory, His favor, His love, His peace, His joy, and His matchless, unbroken companionship]!(A) Matt 6:25-34 Therefore I tell you, stop being [v]perpetually uneasy (anxious and worried) about your life, what you shall eat or what you shall drink; or about your body, what you shall put on. Is not life greater [in quality] than food, and the body [far above and more excellent] than clothing? 26Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow

An Aha moment when words of God caught my ears.

I was watching TBN tonight and I came accross a highly anointed man of God, Kim Clement. These are his words as approximately as I caught them in my ear and I hope it blesses somebody today: He quoted Ps 139:17-18."How precious are your thoughts O Lord. How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them they would outnumber the grains of sand. Ps 139:17-18. How many good thoughts does God think of you? How God thinks about you is not ugly, its beautiful . Yet you keep thinking negative thoughts of yourself. Stop thinking that way. Think good things about yourself. How utterly utterly true! God always wipes the mistakes of our past, beautifully spotlessly clean. Yet we persist in thinking bad about ourselves.Me included. I will make an effort to remember this striking passage. Its an excellent idea in fact and one of the important things I am going to teach my children. Pastor Kim Clement prophecied that the period May to October is a favourable time. I am looking forward toward the go

Each Tear Mary J Blige song lyrics

There’s something that I want to say, But I feel I don't know how. Until I just can’t hold it one more day, So I think I let it out. You’re on my mind more than I may show You’re in my heart more than you may know And the last thing that I want, Is to you to fall apart. Your future will be clearer, I want you to remember. In each tear there’s a lesson, (there’s a lesson) Makes you wiser than before (wiser) Makes you stronger than you know (stronger) In each tear (each tear) Brings you closer to your dreams No mistake, no heartbreak Can take away what your meant to be... We can’t change the things, That we done, that’s in the past. But fighting won’t get us anywhere, So if you want, Here’s my hand... Every night there is one thing I do I bow my head and pray for you (pray for you) And the last thing that I want, Is for you to fall apart you're future will be clearer I want you to remember In each tear there’s a lesson, (there’s a lesson) Makes you wiser than before (wiser)

Things I would do as a parent

1.Encourage them in the right direction. 2.Allow them to make mistakes and learn from them. 3.Pray for them constantly over their education, career, future, life partner, their life to be a blessing to others, exemplary behaviour, protection from all harm and evil. 4.Remind my children what kind of genes they are made up of....solid,strong,dependable,intelligent,make wise choices, know whats best for them. 5.They are strong enough on the inside to say NO. 6.To please God and not people. 7. Let them know the importance of boundaries in life. 8. To let them operate independently a little by little by trusting them age-appropriate wise. They learn from their mistakes and/or gain more confidence in themselves. 9.Learn self defense when required. 10. Stand firm in the face of bullies. Not to be cowed by them. 11.Bless them everyday.

Things I would teach any child including my own.

1.God should be first priority in your life. 2.Obey your parents in all things because they are more experienced/knowledged with mistakes you are likely to commit.Trust them,be open to talk with them.If not your own, talk with other godly parents as well. 3.Put no confidence in your flesh.Always strive to gain victory in the spirit over flesh.By flesh I mean temptations toward food, drugs, sex, etc. 4. Have a goal in your life and work towards it.Ultimately one day you have to stand on your own feet to take care of yourself.Financial independence gains you respect. 5.Be careful in choosing your friends.Observe what they are interested in. If they are interested in fleshly things, then they are not the right kind of friends.Have friends who are godly and have goals in their life.Godly people are God fearing, honest and trustworthy. Ungodly friends might also be honest and trustworthy but leave God out of the equation....and most likely to compromise on their ethics. 6.Our ultimate goal in l

The 'spiritual' unmentionables and turn-arounds.

The weaker side of my faith. The reason of my writing this is to mainly encourage myself. I am going through a crisis right now that requires tremendous amount of faith for the next several weeks..Perhaps I am blowing it out of proportion in my mind. I had people pray over my situation and I derive comfort there.Yet, when God asks me to let go of my worries to Him I just cling onto my worrying and brooding as usual. This morning as I was blog hopping I came across a cute story about a young woman desperately wanting to be a mom in the face of odds and yes, soon enough God blessed her in an extraordinary way.Yes, she faced few challenges but yet God came through with her.She has such a generous heart. Few possibilities and realities to consider : 1. Instead of directing emotions inwardly (selfpity/lack of faith) find something else to think about, perhaps help and be there for someone else or find something to be grateful about. In my case, when I read about this young woman's story it

All the way my Savior leads me ---Francis J.Crosby, published 1875.

All the way my Savior leads me, What have I to ask beside? Can I doubt His tender mercy, Who through life has been my Guide? Heav’nly peace, divinest comfort, Here by faith in Him to dwell! For I know, whate’er befall me, Jesus doeth all things well; For I know, whate’er befall me, Jesus doeth all things well. All the way my Savior leads me, Cheers each winding path I tread, Gives me grace for every trial, Feeds me with the living Bread. Though my weary steps may falter And my soul athirst may be, Gushing from the Rock before me, Lo! A spring of joy I see; Gushing from the Rock before me, Lo! A spring of joy I see. All the way my Savior leads me, Oh, the fullness of His love! Perfect rest to me is promised In my Father’s house above. When my spirit, clothed immortal, Wings its flight to realms of day This my song through endless ages: Jesus led me all the way; This my song through endless ages: Jesus led me all the way. source: http://library.timelesstruths.org/music/All_the_Way_My_Sav

How God has been building my faith through the years

The Lord has been guiding me continually like he said in Isaiah 58:11~ "And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not." The Lord has provided wonderful network of support, spiritually, through family and friends. The Lord stood by His promises in many many instances. He made my enemies to dwell in peace with me. After marriage, I began to face life in earnest and discovered that life is never happily ever after.Through every situation God gave me His love and support. We had trouble with Raj's visa papers and God delivered us out of it. We were apprehensive about his getting a visa, God heard our prayers and enabled Raj to go. The Lord enabled us to join Raj as a family. Through Sharon's pregnancy,God guided us on to the right path and kept us safe. He enabled me to go to India for delivery among loved ones. He answered prayer

Lessons and pieces of wisdom from people who blessed me.

God is turning you into something you will be amazed when He is done. If God can change you,He can also change the people whom you are frustrated with. God is doing a good thing in you.We shd let and invite God to do what He wants to do in you and needs to do in you. God works even when we doubt, even when we go through trials, even when there is Our job is to pray ...God will answer the pray in His time,it could be even after when we are no more but what we asked of God, it will come to pass. Time is never a determining factor in God's eyes and economy. Study the things that God has done for you in the past .Everytime Israel forgot what God has done for them in the past they went into bondage. My work,my value,my acceptance and approval comes from the Lord. If people offend you or wrong you in some way, it is between them and God.I dont have to be hurt or drown myself in resentment and bitterness. God is not done with you yet, God has got new better bigger thingz for u this year, Go

God's wonderful promises

Blessed is she who has BELEIVED that what the LORD has said to her will be accomplished !" Luke 1:45. And Abram BELEIVED the Lord and the Lord declared him RIGHTEOUS because of his faith Gen 15:6. He did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what He had promised. Romans 4:20-21 God’s going forth is as certain as the dawn…” Hosea 6:3 I have taught you the way of wisdom;I have led you in the paths of uprightness. When you walk, your step will not be hampered; And if you run, you will not stumble. Proverbs 4:12-13 The LORD will guide you continually...You shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail." Isaiah 58:11 And yet... I know He is here ~ my El Roi ~ The God Who Sees Me. Gen 16:13 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten....Joel 2:25a You shall blossom abundantly and rejoice with joy and sing

PROMISE and BELIEVE

I thank God for this brand new day and dealing bountifully with me in His grace. The words that are etched on my heart today are PROMISE and BELEIVE. On Christmas eve 2009, Laurie gave me a passage to read during the service ,it was about the story of Mary visiting Elizabeth and in the end Elizabeth says to Mary these words: Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished!" Luke 1:45. These particular words, as I read them in the church struck my heart so much that I pondered on it and decided to beleive what God says to me in His word. Elizabeth might have said that to Mary but it applies to everyone who beleives and take God at His word. Few days later I received a letter from Joyce Meyer with a magnet in it which said, "For as many as are the promises of God they all find their answer in Him" 2Cor 1:20. and the caption "I Promise you----God" That was when I decided to put more efforts on beleiving God's promises a

A Fresh Promise and A Fresh Hope

I took a walk today around my neighbourhood. The new year started with a gloom of not being happy with myself. As I passed neighbouring homes, lawns and flowers, I sensed God breathe a new meaning for the word FRESH. FRESH = God's love at any given moment in time. It is always fresh and immeasurable in supply and always mine and ours for the asking. FRESH as in newly blossoming flowers with unimaginable hues. A FRESH start toward any venture that God is willing to supply me with enough grace to breeze me through. So begins my battle for weightloss and eating healthy through the year.Yes, this venture has started fresh in my mind today. It is God's doing and is marvelous in my sight. As I took a walk around I saw a rock,a place of rest.God is my rock and He is my place of rest when I am weary. I also saw a young deer (patio sculpture) with newly budded horns. The words whispered to me were 'graceful' and 'elegant'. That was a FRESH PROMISE for this year from God to t
